Stirling Cardiomyopathy Information Day - Saturday 17th April 2010
The all-day event is being held at the Barceló Stirling Highland Hotel, Spittal Street, Stirling, FK8 1DU, from 9.30am to 4.30pm. The main speaker will be Dr Perry Elliott, consultant cardiologist at the Heart Hospital in London. He will be talking about the three main types of cardiomyopathy - hypertrophic, dilated and arrhythmogenic right ventricular - and their diagnosis, latest treatments and research. The CMA's chief executive Robert Hall will talk about the work of the charity and how it supports affected families, and Dr Iain Findlay from the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley will outline development in services for people in Scotland with cardiomyopathy. The event provides an ideal opportunity to learn more about cardiomyopathy and meet others living with the condition. Those affected by the condition and family members and friends are welcome to attend. The day is also suitable for health professionals, including heart failure nurses. Attending the day is free of charge, but those wishing to have lunch are asked to contribute £10 towards the cost. For more information or to register, call
Sarah Dennis at the CMA on 01494 791224, or
